Growing up

Well, I am now officially a homeowner - thats a scary concept, having THAT much debt over me, but having a blank canvas this big is AMAZING! I hate beige as a rule but after having spent the weekend choosing furniture and arranging our perfectly matched brown, fawn and beige soft furnishings with some beautiful pale woods and I'm actually looking foreward to painting a brand new piece to go on the wall above the dining table. Its going to have to be much more tonal than I usually produce which is challenging but it will be up here soon. Once work calms down again so that i'm not spending every weekend half-dead on the sofa, I am going to go

Shock and awe

Having time to look around on dA always gives me a multitude of ideas, makes me want to paint and make photograph and wish I was better! My main loves in art are Macro photography, Abstract and wildlife photography, all of which are in abundance on here. I know I am still learning in all my chosen field but I would also like to improve and having a little time to explore here has given me inspiration. Now I need time to act! I am always shocked at the skill visible on here, if I could muster even 10% of the talent I have seen, I might actually sell something!

A little thanks

I never know how to start a journal, I never want to spend a journal releasing my tension or b*tching about any hardships because my problems are irrelevent to the wider world as well as being insignificant in view of everything else happening in the world. I do however want to spend this journal taking time to thank everyone that has looked at my recent work and who have helped me to try and start making friends here on dA, something that I have never really managed before, and I wish I knew how to feature some of the wonderful artists that I have met on my re-discovery of dA. Anyone who takes the time to tell me about features and linking
